Yet another proposed term for the years 2000-2009; it sounds distinctly British to me and I'd say it has a good chance of being used there, even if only on TV. Sounds like "naughty" of course, and therefore will inevitibly crawl up on all those British variety shows etc etc.

Of course it could also be spelt naughties, but I feel this is a bit crude... the word naughty already exists; noughty is a new variation and is actually a pun, rather than just a suggestion of humour.
