Short for "opposite editorial" or "opinion editorial", a page in a newspaper or other mass medium, that usually contains signed features expressing personal viewpoints on the topics that are relevant to the medium's audience. Traditionally, this page was opposite the editorial page.
By extension, an article on such a page is also called an "op-ed". |
