(2) Scholarly works, as in, "I used to sell my old papers to underclassmen in college."

(3) Thin slips of paper used for rolling tobacco or other smokable substances into cigarettes, as in, "Dude, got any papers?"

A pedigree, especially when included with domestic pets. Those sold with papers are more expensive than pets without.

A dog without papers may be a mongrel or mutt.
