A picatinny-weaver rail is a very popular type of sight mount for rifles, assault rifles, and some pistols.

Consisting of a rail built into either the top and / or bottom of the weapon, a Picatinny-Weaver rail system accepts different types of scope mounts, laser-aiming devices etc.
