There have been discussions of sandwiches and sammiches, but no one has tackled the sangwich.

A sangwich, properly put together by a sandwich architect, is just a sammich that contains mostly Italian ingredients. Sangwiches are usually overflowing with all kinds of fatty meats and cheeses and smothered with peppers. Most important is the hard Italian bread, with its tough exterior, but oh so chewy middle.

The sangwich was immortalized in the film Analyze This with the exchange:

Guard: "What kind of sangwich ain't too fattening?"
Jelly: "A half a sangwich"

My personal favorite is very simple: Salami, Capicola, red peppers and fontenella cheese on the crustiest bread possible, usually accompanied by greasy olives. I ate one during every Bears game this year.
