a warranty or other guarantee of merchantability issued by a manufacturer in which they promise that the goods they have sold will always perform in accordance with their specifications, and that the product will be repaired or replaced if it fails to do so, even if the reason for failure is misuse or intentional damage. Sears Craftsman tools are an example of a product with an unconditional guarantee.
agreement to honor a guarantee or promise under any and all circumstances, even where fraud may have occurred. An example of this is a Traveler's Check, as long as the second signature reasonably matches the first, the traveler's check issuer (American Express, Thomas Cook, etc.) will pay the value of the traveler's check, even if it was stolen.
