Big thanks go out to Apatrix and Oolong and Dann, who helped with the early entry of the dictionary contents. Muchas gracias! -- Lucy-S

The materials noded under this username are adaptaions of materials from BioTech Educational Resources at IU; the vast majority will be from the BioTech Life Sciences Dictionary, which was edited by Lucy A. Snyder and mostly written by Lucy, Mimi Tseng and Rob Elliot with additions from Jeanne Vogelzang, Janelle Baran, Brent Shelley, and Stephen Vigo.

The BioTech Dictionary was, during its active period (1995-1998), the largest scientific dictionary on the web. It can be found mothballed at http://biotech.icmb.utexas.edu/.

About the Copyright ....

The copyright originally belonged to Indiana University but was, in 1998, transferred to the University of Texas. The copyright moved solely because the professor in charge of the BioTech project changed schools of employment.

BioTech materials are used here on E2 with explicit permission from Dr. Andrew Ellington, BioTech's faculty administrator at the University of Texas. Proof of said permissions can be forwarded to whomever cares to see it.

If you're on the content rescue team, I encourage you to go forth, read these nodes, and improve on them forthwith. Roninspoon indicates these nodes will stay up for archival purposes once they're superseded. Groovy.

Looking for something new to node?

Here is a list of a few of the words we meant to do entries on for the BioTech Dictionary, but didn't ever get to. I haven't completely weeded out the ones that have already been noded here at e2. However, some of you may find inspiration on biomedical subjects worthy of noding by looking at the list below. If you do any of these, drop me a message so I can take them off the list here.
