More than that, life is an awful lot of not being dead (a condition which doesn't sound too terribly exciting, even if you're the living dead - with the exception of being a vampire. Being a vampire would probably kick ass, with the minor disadvantages of never seeing the sun, subsisting by drinking the blood of the living (not so much of a disadvantage as a potential hassle), and being trapped in long, slowly stagnating life of immortality and damnation).

On a side note, my cell phone is definitely a huge, unwieldy box that was probably forged in the late bronze age. It doesn't know what time it is. If it does know, it isn't sharing the information. Curse the phone.
