When I was in the 3rd or 4th grade, we had this big
tooth week, or some other such
dental festival. All of us kids got new
toothbrushes and
Crest toothpaste, and these keen little red tablets. The red tablets were a dye, and you were supposed to chew them up after you had brushed your teeth. The red dye would stick to the
plaque that you had missed while brushing, giving you a good idea of where you needed to pay more attention with your tooth
brushing.
I am currently taking
Pyridium for a
urinary tract infection, and it turns my urine to a pretty orange-y
easter egg dye sort of color. I went to the bathroom here at work, and after I flushed... there was a broad
sunshine yellow band of color around the top of the waterline in the
toilet bowl. I
flushed again. It stayed.
I now equate my urine to those red tablets. Instead of blotchy red spots, though, I have created a
tie dyed sunshine toilet. I wonder what the cleaning lady will think - now I know she hasn't been
scrubbing off the toilet plaque.
If this keeps up, the toilet will end up with
gingivitis.
