Radical
feminist theory is based upon a
recognition of a
systematic oppression of
women that goes
beyond the flaws in
law or
rights. While most
radical feminists do support the actions of the more accepted
liberal feminism, they also believe that these
actions are simply
not enough, that they do more to salve the
wound than cure the
infection. Because radical feminists believe that the
systematic oppression
permeates everything, from
law to
society to
interpersonal relations to
gender nuetral language, they support all actions of
change and
transformation, but they believe that focus only on
legal change is
shortsighted and will never completely solve anything.
Radical feminists believe, essentially, that the only way that we can make the world a better place is to completely change it - radical transformation is the only real way to get there.
