Played one of the Hanson Brothers, three hockey goons, in the movie Slap Shot. Like the other two "Hanson Brothers", he actually played minor league hockey for the Johnstown Jets when the movie was filmed. (The movie was not-too-loosely based on the Jets, according to a friend who grew up in Johnstown, PA as a fan.)
Dave Hanson was a defenseman, and played fo a series of minor and major league hockey teams from 1974 to 1989, including the New England Whalers, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota North Stars.
After his playing career, he spent some time as the general manager for the Albany River Rats, a New Jersey Devils farm team in the AHL.
