Levophobia
Fear of things to the left side of the body.
Not to be confused with other fears concerned with the left, notably
sinistrophobia which has a markedly similar meaning but concerns
left-handedness and is not bodily oriented.
Levophobia has been noted as a typically right handed fear where the non
dominant side feels irrationally vulnerable.
Sufferers of this Phobia can be assumed to be displacing a deeper issue to
a non threatening fear. It is safe to say that the left side of the body
may be at best a clue for the therapist to work from.
Sufferers may also display sinistrophobia but not necessarily visa-versa.
As with all psychological disorders the details and cause can vary greatly in
detail from sufferer to sufferer.
