A massive
electronic music festival held every summer in
Berlin,
Germany. Called "the largest
secular gathering in the world", in
1999 more than 1.5 million people attended the outdoor festivities in the
Tiergarten.
Two parades start at the
Brandenburger Tor and near the
Zoologischer Garten, respectively, and meet at the Siegessäule in the middle of the Tiergarten. The parades are filled with people and with trucks carrying sound systems and
DJs. The trucks then circle the traffic circle until into the evening.
Dr. Motte, the leader of the whole affair, gives his traditional (rambling, boring) speech to the sweaty crowd. After that, the party moves to the many
clubs around the city, where people dance all night to DJs from around the world.
