(Tolkien's Arda; Sindarin: "waters of the Swans")

These were marshy lands and great fens above the Númenorean settlement of Tharbad in Minhiriath, being the outflow of the river Glanduin. On the borders of Eriador, where the Glanduin merged with the Hoarwell to become the Gwathló (or Greyflood), they were so called due to the large population of swans (and other waterbirds) that lived there.

Known in the common speech (Westron) as "Swanfleet".
