As far as I'm concerned, this is the best used bookstore on the planet.
Located at 200 N. Locust Street in Denton, Texas, Recycled is situated in an historic 17,000 square foot building -- apparently, it used to be an opera house -- on the corner of the town square. They have, at last count, over 200,000 books, 7,000 records, 16,000 CDs, and much more.
There are books crammed into every possible space in the store -- sometimes, it seems that whenever they need more shelfspace, they knock down a wall and put some more books in the crawlspace. They have used books, rare books, signed books, used CDs, long-play vinyl records, board games, and more cool stuff than you can shake a stick at. They're open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. I've never met a book lover who could resist the store's many charms.
When I lived in Denton, Recycled was one of the places that made the whole town worth living in, and on the rare occasions when I get to go back to Denton for a visit, I always allow myself several hours to browse through the store.
