The College Park Airport is the longest continually operating airport in the United States. Established in 1909 it has served the College Park, Maryland and Washington DC communities for decades. The airport has been site to a number of achievements in aviation, including the site of the first Army Aviation School in 1911. The airport is currently under flight restrictions following the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington DC. The airport is also home to an aviation museum and the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant.
