A vector is normalized by dividing by its magnitude.

percentages and probabilities are normalized by being expressed as a decimal portion of 1.

Hey, kids, don't forget that functions can be normalized too. And in many different ways.

A function is L1 normalized if its integral over all space is one. It is L2 normalized if the integral of the function times its complex conjugate is one.
