They say a picture says a thousand words; to this end, we have photologs. Essentially a weblog with photographs in the place of words, these can indeed say a lot about a person, a place or even an entire culture. Prose forces us to use our imaginations to picture a place, which has its own merits, but pictures show you what something really looks like; if the weblogger is from Serbia, for example, their pictures would provide an impression of day-to-day life in that country in a more tangible way than a sparse description.
The next step, of course, will be videologs. But we'll have to wait a little while before most of our Internet connections can handle that.
