Pre*cip`i*ta"tion, n. (Meteor.) A deposit on the earth of hail, mist, rain, sleet, or snow; also, the quantity of water deposited. ⇒ Deposits of dew, fog, and frost are not regarded by the United States Weather Bureau as precipitation.
