A growing habit in
Hollywood casting agents and
screenwriters to write parts with certain actors specifically in mind. Whole movies are also sometimes written for the actors, often to dire consequences for the enjoyment and success of the movie.
e.g.
- Adam Sandler - of late has been given the "angry young man" role, with either a speech impediment or a mental problem or both.
Movie chain: Happy Gilmore, Bulletproof, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky and too many others to mention. All have the same traits...
- Arnold Schwartzenegger - the big guy, the good guy, the secret agent, the tough man who has freaky shit done to him.
Movie chain: Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Running Man, Total Recall, True Lies, The 6th Day.

- Jim Carrey - the rubber-faced man with the strange voices and freaky habits.
