Blandford Fly is the name of a
beer brewed by the
Badger Brewery in Blandford St. Mary,
Dorset,
England. The beer is brewed with
ginger; when served cold this gives the brew a refreshing
tartness, but is yet at the same time warming. At 5.2% by volume
alcohol, it has a surprisingly
subtle and
complex taste, but should not be taken lightly!
The beer takes it's name from the fact that ginger is supposed to be the best
remedy for the symptoms caused by a biting
fly found on the river Stour, near Blandford.
