Please note that such a drive does *not*
silence the noise from the
nuclear power plant, mainly in this instance the pumps that circulate the coolant, and the flow of steam through the plant. In fact the gain in silencing may be less than you would expect because of the need for more
turbines to drive the high capacity
generators that are required to operate the 'caterpillar drive'.
