I really loved the book. Kind of amazing that you can find a book about rabbits so interesting. He did all kinds of weird stuff stylistically that can sort of blow your mind while you're reading it. Like the time I was reading along, and suddenly noticed that the paragraph I was reading, almost a page long, was all one huge sentence. It just went on and on! Or phrases that looked like they were stuck in the middle from someplace else. And linguist that I am, I loved having a Lapine language to play with, even just a few words.
However, I must add that the sequel to this book, Tales from Watership Down, was extremely disappointing. It read like bad fan fiction. Stay away.
