I guess I would just like to point out to a certain other Cthulhu, that Ministry was obviously not referring to Psalm 69, but to Aleister Crowley's The Book of Lies: Chapter 69 (which I just wrote up). Just a bit of further analysis of Aleister Crowley's work, it certainly mirror's this Psalm. By reading both carefully, The Book of Lies: Chapter 69 refers to God and Man taking the Plunge, and Man sending prayer on high. Of course, there are so many dualities in Aleister Crowley's work that finding commonalities between his work that one can really make any interpretation they want. As for being offensive, I think that Aleister Crowley wanted to be so, out of spite and 19th century angst. After all, the man did revel in the idea of himself being The Beast (or the Anti-Christ) an idea which Marilyn Manson would of course capitalize on much more effectively about a century later.
