The character "Figment" as seen in
EPCOT's "
Journey Into Imagination" is a squeaky voiced little purple dragon who encourages people to use their
imagination. The character has recently (as of Summer 2000) been mostly removed from the attraction with the exception of a
cameo appearance toward the end of the
ride. There are numerous
fans of Figment who are extremely
upset at this turn of events and their
arguments and
complaints can be found in many places of the web.
UPDATE-
Apparently, Figment has been returned in a new incarnation of
Journey Into Imagination as of June of 2002. The original song was also returned. Unfortunately, the voice artist who did Figment's original voice has
passed away, so his voice is slightly different.
