Pai Mei is a legendary character who shows up in several martial arts films, the most recent of which was Kill Bill: Volume 2, and was popularized by films directed by the Shaw Brothers. Pai Mei usually has a long, white beard and bushy, white eyebrows (in fact, Pai Mei translates from Chinese into English as "White Eyebrows"). He usually appears as an extremely powerful and skilled master who serves to teach young martial artists he deems worthy of his tutelage or a wicked villain. He also possesses a deadly array of techniques, such as his Five-Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique.

Pai Mei was based off of Pak Mei, a former Shaolin master and member of the Invincible Five. He was said to have turned his back on the Shaolin Order and aided the Qing Dynasty in its fight against Chinese rebels, a category which the Shaolin monks fell under. Pak Mei is also the title given to Pai Mei's fighting style, which is still practiced to this day.
