The
Vampire State Building was a
pop group in the late
1960s. As far as I know, the group was "created" for the purpose of
recording their one and only single,
Barnabas which is a song about
Barnabas Collins, the famous vampire from the
daytime gothic serial drama,
Dark Shadows. The
verses to the song were spoken, but the
chorus was sung:
"Barnabas, we must confess
We dig your pearly fangs and your blood-stained breath
Biting people's is your ghoulish desire
Barnabas you're our favorite vampire!"
The only time I've ever really heard the song is on a Varese Sarabande recording called The Dark Shadows 30th Anniverary Collection which is worth listening to for any DS fan.
