volleyball player, but, alongside
Bill Russell, he revolutionized
basketball. Wilt and Russ were the first to combine sheer size with unparalleled athleticism (both were multi-
sport stars). Wilt set records (most rebounds, 100 points in a game, a 50 pts/gm average in 1961-62), but Russell won championships.
Played for the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers.
