"Flash Bang" is also
police slang for a
stun grenade.
Normally used as a cautionary measure, a stun grenade, when activated, explodes with a very loud but harmless bang and flash of light. This has the effect of rendering anyone unlucky enough to be in the room stunned and temporarily blinded.
