Breakfast cereal and other foods for children often promise prizes and toys for small amounts of money and/or box tops.
This is an evil plot.
First -8-10 weeks is a lifetime to a small child. (If a child is 8, 10 weeks is a big chunk of their life- about 1/4 of the life they can recall)- imagine waiting 5 years for a sweater from Land's End?
Second-parents will often forget about the order and will not be concerned that 8-10 weeks becomes 14-16 weeks.
Third- and this is a known fact, the prize is never as big or as cool as it looked on the box.
