All Apologies (3:50)
Nirvana - In Utero

The song was indeed written for Courtney Love and Francis Bean Cobain, but it's not about them. This was the song that got me into modern music, but the longest time I thought it was by Blind Melon. This caused a lot of confusion - apparently MTV had played the video for No Rain with the soundtrack of All Apologies, performing a mindfuck in regards to all conversations about Nirvana for years.

While I grew up listening to the studio version, the acoustic version (4:23) from the Unplugged in New York album is if anything, more moving and raw. Now the Herbie Hancock cover of the song? That's just weird.
