Known to use the telephone excessively, send subjects to bed early, and threaten to lock them in the basement. A perfect example of a babysitter can be seen in the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip.

On a black and white TV , Saturday midnight, the bobbysoxer would let us
watch the monster movies with her, curled up and bed ready, on the couch. She also
said that chocolate and popcorn go good together.

I remember the bobbiesoxer doing my hair until I'd pass out, falling off the chair and onto the floor.
