Someone who dresses in the clothes of the opposite sex. Transvestites are more often men than women.

It's hard for a woman to be a transvestite simply because women are allowed to wear mens' clothing simply because it's gender neutral, whereas if a man were to wear womens' clothing it is such a disgustingly perverse thing to do. Whatever.

transvestite: a person episodically affected with a compulsion to dress as a member of the other sex. In men, the compulsion is commonly essential to the maintenance of erection and achievement of orgasm. It usually is life-long. Rarely, a transvestite may change into a transexual.
