2 minute tomato soup

• Make chicken broth (aka bouillon) from powder, can, or whatever, in the pot. Vegetable broth will also do, if you object to chicken.
• You can drop in some garlic, pepper, bay leaves, oregano, basil, or whathaveyou.
• Add canned tomatoes (not paste!) -- diced, or pureed, or even whole, however they come -- about 400 gr. (half a large can) per litre of broth.
• Simmer for a few minutes (5 for a, light soup, 15 for something heartier). Strain out the solids, if you like.
• Serve garnished with croutons, diced celery, fried onions, fresh basil, a tiny floating drop of olive oil, or any combination.
